Las familias en el altiplano esperan con ansias la bendici\u00f3n de la pachamama: con las primeras lluvias, alrededor del 30 de agosto, las familias comienzan a sembrar la quinua, la oca y habas. Otro indicador para la actividad agr\u00edcola son las se\u00f1ales. Estas permiten interpretar c\u00f3mo ser\u00e1 el comportamiento del clima para la campa\u00f1a agr\u00edcola. Por ejemplo, las lluvias estuvieron ausente este 30 de agosto por lo que se deduce que ser\u00e1 \u201cTaypi Mara\u201d (la segunda siembra ser\u00e1 buena). Otras se\u00f1ales fueron la flor de sankayu, la flor de kariwa, los huevos del lekecho, y el aullido del zorro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">El roturado de tierra (qhulli\u00f1a) es la actividad que da inicio a todo el el ciclo de producci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola. Para esto, las familias eligen el terreno en donde realizar la siembra; ya sea terreno propio y\/o alquilado. Luego se realiza la selecci\u00f3n de semilla (jathacha\u00f1a) para luego realizar la siembra phawa\u00f1a en el caso de los granos andinos y sata\u00f1a en el de los tub\u00e9rculos. La siembra de semillas va acompa\u00f1ada del guano (wanu\u00f1a) en el que se echa el abono del esti\u00e9rcol de llama, oveja o vaca en los surcos. En la \u00e9poca de crecimiento de las plantas de papa se realiza dos aporques (acondicionar con tierra a los tallos) esto se denomina thumi\u00f1a y kawa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">En la \u00e9poca de los carnavales, las familias esperan con ansias los primeros frutos. Con diferentes ceremonias y rituales reciben y dan gracias a la pachamama por la bendici\u00f3n de los alimentos. Esto da inicio a las primeras cosechas denominado llamayu\u00f1a (escarbar papa) o apaquipa\u00f1a en el caso de los granos andinos. Al t\u00e9rmino de la cosecha es necesario realizar la trilla de quinua, ca\u00f1ihua, cebada, centeno y habas, lo cual se denomina jawka\u00f1a. En el caso de los tub\u00e9rculos como la papa, este proceso termina en la elaboraci\u00f3n del chu\u00f1o para su posterior almacenamiento, actividad que en aymara denominamos
